Job Description

 

Weatherguard Metals Ltd. is a leading metal fabrication and installation company located in SE Calgary. Our projects are seen all over the industrial, commercial, and residential sectors in western Canada. As such, we are seeking reliable metal cap flashers who are committed to working in a fast-paced, team environment. The ideal candidates would have previous experience installing metal cap on commercial and residential buildings. However, we are willing to train the right candidates.

 

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Operating Aerial Platform and/or Telehandler (if applicable)

• Properly using ladders at various heights

• Measuring, Marking, Cutting, and Installing various metal cap products.

• Operating power tools including, drills, shears and grinders

• Caulking seams and removing old material

• Unloading metal cap and handling material

• Assessing proper loads on trailers

• Participating in safety meetings and using proper housekeeping

Requirements:

• Ideal candidate would have prior experience in installing cap flashing on commercial and residential buildings.

• Knowledge of hand shears, power tools, and other hand tools, etc.

• Ability to take accurate field measurements

• Ability to work at heights in manlifts, on scaffolds, or on roofs etc

• Ability to kneel and stoop for long hours while completing repetitive tasks

• Ability to be punctual, reliable, and follow instructions

• Ability to have reliable transportation to and from the workplace.         

• Ability to work extended hours (8-10hrs) as per job requirements

• Willingness to work outside of the Calgary metro area and/or the province on occasion.

• Proven commitment to safety, including wearing proper PPE at all times.

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday (Day Shift)

• 8-10 hour shifts depending on work load

• Overtime pay after 8 hours

• Weekends as needed

Work Location:  Calgary Metro Area, Alberta, and Inter-Provincial.
